As salamu allaiqum
Many healers, elders, and practitioners face a recurring problem where patients undergoing treatment accuse the healer of being the one performing magic on them. Even without evidence, victims often defame the practitioner who is attempting to help. This appears to be a widespread issue within the field.
It is common to hear people claim that their troubles increased after visiting a particular practitioner, or that supernatural disturbances began in their homes only after seeking help. They may conclude that the person they went to for a cure is now the one causing the problem.
While these accusations are frequent, there is often a different reality behind them. Many people may not understand the tactics used by those who initiate these problems or the hidden motives involved.
The Strategy of Manipulation
A practitioner of harmful magic may seek to achieve three goals by creating doubt in the victim's mind:
  1. Diverting Suspicion: When a victim begins to identify the actual source of their trouble, the perpetrator may attempt to shift the victim's focus. By planting seeds of doubt, the perpetrator makes the victim suspect the healer instead.
  2. Cutting Off Support: By making the victim distrust the healer, the perpetrator successfully stops the assistance the victim was receiving. The victim may then stop their treatment and focus on defaming the healer, allowing the original perpetrator to continue their activities without interference.
  3. Reducing Effort: Previously, a perpetrator might have had to work harder to overcome the healer's interventions. Without the healer's help, the victim becomes more vulnerable, allowing the perpetrator to achieve their goals with less effort.
